Artist's Comments

It's been a while since I drew something that I just really wanted to draw. It so happened that what I really wanted to draw was a lioness in armor holding a stupidly large sword behind her. (It's the image I've had in my head for an RPG character; haven't decided on her name yet)

If you haven't done art for yourself in a long while I would suggest that you do, because--at least I think so--the art you do for yourself invariably comes out better, and everyone needs that confidence boost now and then!

As much as I love paladins, I have yet to play a classic 3.5 pally. I've pulled fighter and barbarian, though, and both are fun stuff. Yay for tanks.

In other news, I like the expression of determination on her face. The greatsword looks simple yet stylish and heavy enough to function almost like a blunt weapon as well as a blade. Her torso looks short compared to her long legs, but that may just be the armor. The armor design is also relatively simple, yet it appears functionally sound and stylistically appealing. All this pally needs is a holy symbol of Heironeous.

Her hips are lower than they appear; you can see their outline in the armor joints. Also, I haven't ever played a 3.5 pally because I have rarely played D&D; only thing I've played from 3.5 is a rogue and a fighter. (Fighter was best, yay tanks)
